Acupuncture is an ancient procedure of inserting and manipulating various, but specific points on the body to relieve
pain and disease conditions and for preventative purposes to maintain health. These meridians have specific functions and qualities that can be stimulated for the removal of blockages and to address deficiencies for therapeutic and preventative effect.
The World Health Organizations (WHO) and The National Institutes of Health (NIH) have stated that acupuncture can be effective in the treatment of neurological conditions and pain.
The American Medical Association (AMA) and the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM) have stated that acupuncture is safe when administered by licensed practitioners using sterile needles.
Lita works with the natural flow of energy (QI) through movement that stimulates the body’s energy highways called the meridians. Her work combines Qi Gong, Nia and her knowledge of acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Qi Gong- An Ancient system of movement and breathing that cultivates the free flow energy in the body. Like acupuncture, Qi gong is used for disease prevention and curative therapy.
Nia- Combo of martial arts (including tai chi, Aikido and Tae Kwando), modern dance (Duncan and Jazz) and yoga. Nia utilizes 52 moves that stimulate the intrinsic healing flow of energy through the body’s natural way.
Nia 5 stages are an integrative practice based on the 5 stages of human development: Embryonic, Creeping, Crawling and Standing. When appropriate, Lita uses storytelling and ancient myth to reach and engage the subconscious for a deeper experience.
